Another U/S

Today I went for my 3rd ultrasound with this pregnancy. I would prefer not to have had so many so far, but at the same time, I must admit I like seeing the little baby in there!

The tech did a few measurements in addition to trying to get the spine shots. The size of the baby is about a pound and a half right now. From the measurements, the baby is still on target for the middle of June as a due date. ::stay on target::

I tried and tried and tried to make out a gender shot, but no luck. So, this kid will be a surprise for everyone, including me, after all. The tech did have some problems with getting the spine shots again. This child is already just as ornery as it's sister! The tech was laughing because this child is basically tucking itself down against my pelvic bone. It doesn't seem comfortable to me, but then again, neither do some of the crazy contortions I saw it get into today.

Finally, she tried one last time and there was a perfect shot she needed of the spine/tailbone. The kid wasn't completely uncooperative.

Last night, I had my first very clear dream about this baby. In the dream, the baby was a boy. So that means if you go with MY theory, the baby really is a girl. Everyone but Katarina and my dad are saying boy though. But then again, everyone said boy last time and Katarina is definitely a girl!

Week 23

Not much to report but I wanted to add an updated belly shot. Tomorrow I have another ultrasound to get two more spine shots since Baby S 2.0 didn't cooperate last time!

Appointment #5

I was sort of excited about this appointment today since I would be finally seeing one of my original doctors. I feel like we have a good rapport so I knew I could feel comfortable talking to him, not like I'm just a "file" like I have with the other doctors. Yesterday, I also had those horrible pains again so I was glad I was scheduled to go in today so I could talk about that with him.

The nurse first took my blood pressure - a nice 110/70 like usual. She asked how I was feeling and I told her I felt too old to be having a baby since I felt like I was 80 years old with all my aches and pains! After she left, I had the mind-numbingly boring wait for the doctor. On a side note, why can't they have magazines in the office so when you are sitting there you could actually do something?!

Finally Dr. T came in. He seemed happy to see me and asked if Dominic was happy about #2. I said he was until we started seeing more and more of the terrible twos with #1! He laughed. We then discussed my due date. I told him I was not happy with the due date, didn't see how it was possible, etc. He went out and discussed it with another doctor and came back to talk to me. He said they want to keep it at 6/6 but assured me that I can refuse an induction and completely understood why I was so vehement about pushing it back. Then he laughed and said that maybe I should "never say never" and see how I feel come being 41 weeks pregnant. True!

We discussed the ultrasound. He said everything is looking good but I do have to go back in 2 weeks to get those spine shots that Baby S 2.0 did not cooperate for. He also surprised me and said that on the first ultrasound they saw a blood clot. I told him no one had told me about that. He said they don't worry about it unless it shows up on a subsequent ultrasound, which it didn't. Still!

He listened to the heartbeat, he measured me. I asked him about my strange pain. He thinks it's round ligament pain. He said there is a chance I could have a hernia, but they don't diagnosis that until AFTER I deliver. He said that pregnancy affects the body in many ways that he doesn't feel comfortable making any decisions until after the baby is out. But, he's still leaning toward the round ligament pain.

So, in all, I feel that was a productive visit. At the next appointment we'll discuss the glucose test and getting my rhogam shot. Ugh!

Braxton-Hicks

The Braxton-Hicks have started. I started feeling them yesterday. I was just sitting at work and I felt that familiar tightening. Just another little reminder that I am pregnant!

I am still really sore. My hips hurt and walking a lot is painful. I really need to get my butt in gear and start doing some yoga.
